Description
This pretty Aechmea is an attractive addition to any terrarium, as it is popular with poison dart frogs and geckos due to its water-collecting funnels and is also a decorative eye-catcher with its silvery striped leaves and magnificent flowers in delicate shades of pink and blue. Thanks to its robustness, it is just as suitable for beginners as it is for experienced collectors.

Ben's tips on plant care:
- Location/light requirements: bright, but avoid too strong sunlight such as midday sun
- Substrate: tied to Xaxim or in peat-free potting soil with a low pH value and good drainage
- Temperature: optimal at 18-20° C (day)
- Watering: when tied up, spray approx. once a day (avoid leaves or allow to dry well!), otherwise water when the top layer of substrate begins to dry, using lukewarm, low-lime water. Avoid waterlogging at all costs. Water less in winter.
- Humidity: requires high humidity, use a humidifier or place it in the terrarium
- Addition of nutrients: Fertilize only moderately every 2 weeks with diluted liquid fertilizer.
- Separate offshoots as soon as they have reached half the size of the mother plant.
- If the plant is not mounted, repot approximately every 2-3 years once the soil is densely rooted.
