Description
This decorative Apoballis is not only a sought-after rarity among aroid collectors, but also a real beauty with its silvery spotted leaves and chestnut-red undersides and stems. It is not too complicated to care for if you pay attention to its needs. For example, it can also tolerate shadier locations, but about 6 hours of indirect sunlight per day will bring out its colors and regulate its soil moisture.
The product photos show examples of the plant. You will receive a specimen that corresponds to the product photos in terms of size, shape and color.

Ben's tips on plant care:
- Location/light requirements: Semi-shaded, but avoid direct sunlight at all costs
- Substrate: Aroid substrate or potting soil based on coconut or peat with good drainage
- Temperature: optimal at 22-26° C (day), 18-20° C (night), do not allow to cool below 15°C
- Watering: Keep the substrate moist and water when the top layer of substrate begins to dry, using lukewarm water with a low lime content, but avoid waterlogging at all costs. Water less in winter.
- Humidity: requires high humidity, spray regularly (but leaves should be allowed to dry afterwards!) or use a humidifier
- Addition of nutrients: In spring/summer approx. every 2 weeks with liquid fertilizer. Do not fertilize in autumn/winter.
- Avoid cold draughts and heating air.
- If the leaves of the Apoballis curl or its stems droop, the plant needs more water. However, it reacts sensitively to waterlogging.
