Description
As the Pilea throws its pollen almost like bullets in the wild, it is also known as the cannon flower or artillery plant. As it is easy to care for and its pretty silvery leaves also make it a decorative sight, it has become very popular as a houseplant and terrarium plant. Its delicate growth makes it particularly suitable for small terrariums and bottle gardens.
The product photos show examples of the plant. You will receive a specimen that corresponds to the product photos in terms of size, shape and color.

Ben's tips on plant care:
- Location/light requirements: bright to semi-shady, avoid direct sunlight.
- Substrate: well-drained and humus-rich houseplant soil
- Temperature: optimal at 15-18° C, but can also tolerate room temperature
- Watering: keep the substrate moist and water with lukewarm, low-lime water when the top layer of substrate begins to dry. Avoid waterlogging as well as complete drying out of the root ball. Water less in winter.
- Humidity: requires high humidity, spray regularly with low-lime water (leaves should be able to dry well afterwards!) or use a humidifier
- Addition of nutrients: In spring/summer approx. every 2 weeks with liquid fertilizer, less frequently in winter
- Repot younger plants annually, older plants approx. every 3-4 years. Take care not to damage the roots.
